Sundays, 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Sunday Night Live is part of our Senior High Youth Ministry. We meet throughout the school year on Sunday evenings, beginning at 6:30pm with time to hang-out, play pool, etc. We end at 8:30pm.
Sunday Night Live is a large group experience, with a focus on building an accepting community that struggles openly with questions about life and faith. The intent is to provide an environment that accepts and welcomes anyone, including friends. The focus of this ministry is community and relationships. We can learn about Jesus by experiencing Him in those around us.
Individual spiritual growth is fostered within a variety of small groups, which meet at a variety of times throughout the week. These groups may be topically or activity based, and last from a few weeks, to longer term studies with a particular focus. The small groups will have different levels of commitment and intensity. If you have an idea about a small group that might be interesting, please contact us.
Throughout the year a variety of purely social events are planned: parties, trips, etc.
In addition, several off-site retreats are planned throughout the year. The group travels to a retreat center. Thoughout the weekend we study together, play together, live together, and grow closer throughout the process. It is an opportunity to get away from the normal routine to spend time with each other at some of the most beautiful camps in our region. Additionally, we participate in conferences resourced by other organizations, like Youth For Christ.
A variety of service projects and outreach ministry are planned throughout the year, with the highlight being the annual trip to Philippi, West Virginia, where we partner with Heart and Hand House in their Home Repair Ministry. Students are accompanied by exceptionally talented adults that supervise all construction and/or renovation, teaching the youth how to how to safely use both hand and power tools. The end result is that the students handle the majority of the construction, with only those tasks that require advanced skills or certification performed by the adults. This experience has impacted the lives of many over the years, both those that we serve, and those that serve.
